EXCURSION FOR STUDENTS

28.09.2021

On the eve of the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the shootings in Babyn Yar, thousands of people go to the  National Historical Memorial Reserve "Babyn Yar" to honour the memory of the dead, to bow down before their huge nameless grave. Among the visitors are many young people, students and pupils. On September 28, 2021, Volodymyr Kornelyuk, a senior researcher at the National Historical and Memorial Reserve "Babyn Yar", conducted another excursion for young men and women on the topic of Babyn Yar: History, Tragedy, Memory. This meeting on the territory of the Reserve took place with third and fourth-year students of the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine.Young people listened attentively to Volodymyr Kornelyuk who told them a story about the Babyn Yar tract, its tragic events, which happened eighty years ago and sixty years ago Kureniv tragedy. As well as on the current measures to preserve the memory of the victims and their rescuers. Affected by what they heard and saw, the young visitors came to the only and correct conclusion that the horrors like Babyn Yar tragedy should not be repeated. Never again!
