Informative tour to Germany for the purpose of studying the culture of memory and the creation of museums (museum and educational complexes) under the program "Culture of preservation and commemoration of memory in Germany".

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ukraine (on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany), together with the Institute Goethe (Germany), from November 27 to December 3, an informational trip to Germany was organized to familiarize with the practice of memory culture and the creation of museums  (museum and educational complexes)   in Germany under the program "Culture of conservation and commemoration of memory in Germany » The main purpose of the trip was: "Presentation of a culture of memory for decision-makers in the context of the Ukrainian concept for the Babyn Yar memorial."

On the trip participated:

1. Rostislav Karandeev - Deputy Minister of Culture of Ukraine.

2. Valentina Kaplunova - responsible for the development of the national historical-memorial reserve (Ministry of Culture of Ukraine).

3. Dina Popova - Director of the Department of Culture of the Kyiv City Council.

4. Boris Glazunov - General Director of the National Historic-Memorial Reserve "Babyn Yar".

5. Igor Lytvyn - Deputy General Director of the National Historic-Memorial Reserve "Babyn Yar".

6. Mikhailo Gutor - Senior Researcher of the National Historic-Memorial Reserve "Babyn Yar".

7. Anatoliy Haydamaka-Corresponding Member National Academy of Arts of Ukraine.

8. Yana Barinova-Tolstaya - Project Manager "Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center".

9. Boris Zabarko - Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Association of Jews - former prisoners of the ghettos and Nazi concentration camps.

10. Nikolay Kushnir - director of the museum of history and culture of the Jews of Bukovina.

11. Arkady Monastyrsky - Chairman of the Board "Jewish Fund of Ukraine".

12. Marek Sivets - CEO of the "Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center" Project.

13. Oleksandr Suslensky - President of the Jewish Council of Ukraine, Director of the Museum "Heroism and the Holocaust".

14. Leonid Finberg - Director of the Center for the Study of the History and Culture of Eastern European Jews.

15. Anastasia Haydukkevich - Head of the Department of Museum Affair (Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance).

During the trip, the participants heard the following lectures: "History of comprehension of history in Germany and new concepts of pedagogy of historical and memorable places", "Modern and innovative educational centers of modern history", "Commemoration during the digital era", " To keep the true places - to take responsibility "," Memorable places in the public space ".

Participants visited: Bavarian Center for Political Education, Memorial to the victims of the Dachau concentration camp, Munich Documentation Centre for the History of National Socialism, Flossenbürg concentration camp memorial, Future Memory Foundation, The Topography of Terror Foundation,  Berlin Wall Memorial, Jewish Museum in Berlin, Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
