Memorial Day of the Catastrophe and Heroism of European Jewry (Yom HaShoah)

12.04.2018

On the Day of Remembrance of the Catastrophe and Heroism of European Jewry (Yom HaShoah), people revere the memory of six million Jews killed by the Nazis and their followers during the Second World War and recall the heroism of the Jews who launched the uprising in the Warsaw Ghetto. The National Day of Remembrance is celebrated annually on the 27th day of the Jewish Month Nisan. In 2018 it is April 12th.

On April 12, 2018, the National Historical and Memorial Reserve "Babyn Yar" was visited by two groups of Jewish tourists: from Israel - 15 people and from the US, Minnesota - 36 people.

The guests visited the memorable places then held a rally and laid the flowers at the memorial sign Menorah.
