On January 27, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Babyn Yar” presented the “Living Memory” awards to individuals who preserve and pass on the memory of Babyn Yar and the Holocaust.

On January 27, the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the memorial ceremony “Six Million Hearts” took place. Roza Tapanova, Director General of the National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Babyn Yar,” participated in the event and delivered a keynote address.

On 27 January, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, together with members of the diplomatic corps of foreign states, representatives of the Jewish community, the Chief Rabbi of Kyiv and Ukraine, and members of the public, commemorated the memory of millions of innocent children, women, and men murdered as a result of Nazi genocidal policies.

28 January – 15 February 2026 The Babyn Yar National Historical and Memorial Reserve, in partnership with the National Center “Ukrainian House,” presents an exhibition project dedicated to International Holocaust Remembrance Day, observed annually on 27 January, the anniversary of the liberation of prisoners from the Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.

On November 12, Israeli Minister Zeev Elkin visited the Babyn Yar National Historical and Memorial Reserve as part of his official visit to Ukraine.

On September 29, as part of the commemorative program marking the 84th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy, the Living Memory exhibition center hosted a screening and discussion of Serhiy Bukovsky’s documentary Spell Your Name.

On September 29, marking the 84th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy, an interfaith prayer of remembrance took place at the Menorah Memorial — on the very ground where mass executions occurred. Despite rain and an air raid alert, representatives of different faiths and traditions came together to honor the memory of the innocent victims and to pray for peace.

On September 28, marking the 84th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy, the “Living Memory” exhibition center at the National Historical and Memorial Reserve Babyn Yar hosted a memorial piano concert by renowned Ukrainian pianist Yevhen Hromov.

On September 28, the 10th annual March of Memory took place—despite a night of airstrikes, despite cold and rain. Memory proved stronger than darkness, and collective action stronger than fear.
