To mark the 85th anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy, the National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Babyn Yar”, together with Ukrainian and international partners, has prepared a programme of commemorative, cultural, educational and academic events.

Today Babyn Yar was visited by Roi Rozenblit, appointed Ambassador of the State of Israel to Ukraine, together with his wife Dafna Rozenblit and younger son Itay.
"Riefenstahl" Documentary Screened at Living Memory — in Partnership with the Goethe-Institut
On August 16, the Living Memory Exhibition Center hosted another screening as part of the film club within the public program SPACE OF RESEARCH. Attendees watched the documentary "Riefenstahl" by director Andres Veiel (Germany, 2024), which premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival.
A Ukrainian-Jewish Century: Exhibition Opens at Babyn Yar, Alongside Screening of Oscar-Nominated Film Letter to a Pig
The Living Memory Exhibition Center of the National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Babyn Yar” has opened the exhibition A Ukrainian-Jewish Century: Pictures and Stories from 1920 to 2025, alongside a screening and discussion of the Israeli-French animated short film Letter to a Pig, nominated for an Academy Award.

The National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Babyn Yar” in collaboration with Centropa, presents the exhibition “A Ukrainian-Jewish Century: Pictures and Stories from 1920 to 2025” at the Living Memory Exhibition Center.
On August 2, 2026, commemorative events marking International Romani Genocide Remembrance Day took place at the National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Babyn Yar”.
On August 2, 2026, commemorative events marking International Romani Genocide Remembrance Day took place at the National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Babyn Yar”. The event brought together representatives of the Roma community, government authorities, international organizations, and cultural figures.
On 2 August 2026, the National Historical and Memorial Reserve "Babyn Yar" will host commemorative events marking the the International Romani Genocide Remembrance Day.
The programme will begin at 11:00 with a Memorial March from the Entrance Gate to the Roma Wagon Memorial, followed by a commemorative ceremony honouring the victims of the Roma genocide.
Screening of "The Dead Nation" by Radu Jude
On July 24, 2026, at 7:00 PM, the "Zhyva Pamiat" ("Living Memory") exhibition center (46A Yuriya Illienka St.) will host a screening of The Dead Nation (Țara moartă, Romania, 2017) by director Radu Jude.
