On 9 July, the National Historical and Memorial Preserve "Babyn Yar" officially launched RESEARCH SPACE, a two-month public programme dedicated to exploring personal family histories and the collective memory of the Babyn Yar tragedy.

On 10 July at 7:00 pm, the National Historical and Memorial Reserve "Babyn Yar" will launch the Film Club programme within its public project RESEARCH SPACE with a screening of Holofiction.

RESEARCH SPACE is a two-month public project by the National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Babyn Yar”, in which archival documents, books, and film become tools for exploring both personal and collective memory.

Where can you look for information about your family? How is an archive structured, and what can you find on your own? How can you preserve what's already at home? Join us on July 9 at 6:00 PM for a lecture by Kyrylo Vyslobokov, "Searching for Information in the Archive: How It Works," followed by a workshop on digitizing and preserving family archives. Both take place as part of the opening of RESEARCH SPACE, our new public project.

American illusionist and performer David Blaine visited the National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Babyn Yar” David’s mother was born in Odesa, and this was not his first visit to Ukraine. For him, the trip is not only about discovering a country, but also about reconnecting with his own roots and family history.

On January 27, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Babyn Yar” presented the “Living Memory” awards to individuals who preserve and pass on the memory of Babyn Yar and the Holocaust.

On January 27, the International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the memorial ceremony “Six Million Hearts” took place. Roza Tapanova, Director General of the National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Babyn Yar,” participated in the event and delivered a keynote address.
